BLOOD pays homage to the biblical phrase “Bedamayich Chayiy” . Translated as ‘Through your blood shall you live’, this phrase is central to the Jewish Brit Milah (circumcision ceremony) and to the Haggadah (ritual retelling of the Exodus story).

The idea of Blood as the most essential source of life has been lost to us. Today many think of Blood as evocative of violence and pain. But Blood is also that which makes childbirth possible, and through birth connects parents to children, bonding families, tribes, and nations. Without blood, we do not know who we are.
